There are less than 48 hours left for Antonio Rebollo, the famous goalkeeper of Barcelona 92, to start the most spectacular edition of the Cursa dels Nassos. He will shoot his accurate arrow at 5:14 p.m., at which time the athletes with disabilities will start, followed in three different waves by the 10,000 registered for the traditional 10-kilometre event.

Later, at 7:00 p.m., the international 5K race will take place, whose brightest star is Jakob Ingebrigtsen. The Norwegian has already arrived in Barcelona, accompanied by his brothers Filip and Henrik. As part of his busy schedule, he visited the Lluís Companys Olympic stadium and later donated a Norwegian athletics team jersey, signed by him, and spiked shoes, to the Juan Antonio Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum, the place where From now on, this great athletics legend will have his own space that any visitor can enjoy.

5K: IN SEARCH OF EUROPEAN AND WORLD RECORDS

For the third consecutive year, in addition to the massive 10-kilometre event, the Cursa dels Nassos has a sensational 5-kilometre event, for many experts the best in the world over this distance. A maximum of 50 athletes will participate in it and the objective of the organization is to once again break a world record and assault the best European brands in history. In the 2021 edition, the men's and women's world records were broken, with the Ethiopians Berihu Aregawi (12:49) and Ejgayehu Taye (14:19) as protagonists.

The squad for this edition is once again amazing. In the men's category, in addition to the aforementioned Jakob, Henrik and Filip Ingebrigtsen, the Swiss Jonas Raess, the Ethiopian Adisu Girma and the Qatari Mohamed Al Garni will also compete, among other cars.

The world record holder Ejgayehu Taye leads the women's cartel, in search of the world record again, and will face the first two classifieds of the recent European cross, the German Konstanze Klosterhalfen and the Norwegian Karoline Grøvdal. Undoubtedly, the continental distance record is trembling in the presence of these two aliens from the bottom. Other outstanding athletes participating are the Kenyan Miriam Chebet, the Norwegian Amalie Saiten and the young Latvian promise Agate Caune, who will seek the European under-20 record in the Cursa dels Nassos.
